Posted by admin in protect your computer on 06 13th, 2009I just re-installed my windows xp after obtaining a virus that I couldn't get rid of. Now I'm starting from scratch. What is the best way to protect my pc from future attacks. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Hey!
Hope I can Help. I have used just about all the available security programs out there and I will share my conclusion!
By far I have found Trend Micro & Windows Live OneCare to be the 2 best programs available for us. I mostly recommend windows though. Now dont let the word WINDOWS scare you away… This program has it all.. antivirus/spyware/pc tuner/backup and more!
★ The BEST detection/prevention
★ Pc Tuneup to make your pc run like new again
★ Pc Backup to protect your things
★ Great easy to use interface
ANd you know what the best thing.. YOU GET ALL THIS FREE!! for (90)!!! days. NO TRIAL LIMITATIONS.
Get your download and read full review on this site.

If you also need another antispyware (though, onecare has antispyware) I recommend malwarebytes.

If you simply must get a free antivirus program I recommend PC TOOLS. Its alot better than avg/avast/avira

Ps.. Pc security is very important..Id never recommend a program to anyone unless I truly belive its the best option.
☆Good Luck. I hope my answer was helpful. If I can do anything else please let me know. You can email me via my profile page. Peace out - Eric
What is the best way to protect your computer from viruses?
Posted by admin in protect your computer on 06 6th, 2009I just got my Dell computer a few months ago. I have only had
internet acess for a few weeks. I know more about computers now than I did last year, but that isn't saying much. It has been quite a job for me. So any help would be greatly appreicated.
I really need to know what to buy to keep my computer safe from viruses and whatever else might be out there that could hurt my computer. Thank-you.
Don't buy anything. Avast and ad aware is what I use and both are FREE! There re others like AVG free antivirus, just check download.com to find the latest and greatest free programs. Norton is OK but it is bloated and will bog down a slow PC.
How do you protect your computer desk?
Posted by admin in protect your computer on 05 30th, 2009I'm not the only one drinking fluids while on this computer. Do you use a desk/table cloth? What kind of material? I don't want to have it hanging on my legs or blocking drawers. Thanks for suggestions!
You can get one of those waterproof tableclothes and cut it to size.
How do you protect your computer…?
Posted by admin in protect your computer on 05 12th, 2009What are some general ways to just protect your computer from viruses and problems that can get on your computer?
Here are some safety tips (based on personal experience)
1. DO NOT open any email attachments with the extensions (the last 3 letters after the dot): .exe .bat .scr .vbs .com Files with these extensions execute immediately from the moment they are opened. Even if it came from a known soure, that source could have his or her pc infected and sending copies of the virus through email.
2. Avoid visiting sites that offers FREE downloads of MP3s and movies. Try not to download some cute and attractive screensavers.
3. In your instant messenger, do not click on a link that tells you to check out pictures and other stuff.
4. Porn sites are haven for spywares and viruses.

What kind of software do you use to protect your computer?
Posted by admin in protect your computer on 04 26th, 2009What FREE software do YOU use to keep your computer protected? and do you like that software?
I've been using the following for over a year & haven't had any problems.
Avast Antivirus, Auslogic Defrag, MalwareBytes AntiMalware.
I used to use
Lavasoft Adaware, AVG Antivirus and Spybot Search & Destroy
I like my current free software better.
AVG Antivirus let a virus through that Avast was able to clean & would have protected me from had I been using it from the start.
Adaware & Spybot are still alright applications, I think MalwareBytes does a better job & it's less cumbersome.
Auslogic Defrag is FAR faster that the Windows defrag program.
And there you have it, my 2 cents.
How to protect your computer from someone being able to review your im friends?
Posted by admin in protect your computer on 04 18th, 2009They have software, where anyone can get on your computer and trace all of your Messenger visits with your friends. But, is there a way to prevent someone from having that ablility?
Here's what you need to do.
1st, don't waste your time with AVG, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, superantispyware, avast, panda, kaspersky, windows defender or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.
2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. I wouldn't recommend Norton Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. This is elite software. It blocks over 174,500 threats. No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. It catches everything. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.
3rd, I recommend a Firewall from Zone Alarm, their free version is so good. Or you can buy their Pro version, but the free version will do more than the job.
4th, Zone Alarm also has an IM Secure program that is very good. It works great with AIM, Yahoo, MSN, and others.
5th, Any probs during or after you do all this, send me an e-mail.
How do you really clean your computer and protect my computer from spys?
Posted by admin in protect your computer on 04 11th, 2009I saw that there was spy ware someone can use to monitor your emails, chat, and deleted files. I would like to keep my personal life private without someone ever being able to scan my computer and find private emails, chat or deleted files. If I could find some software to detect if some has installed such software on my computer that would be great, free if possible. I also would like to know the best software to use to clean your computer of all items for safety.
I think I may have not been clear to most. I would like to make sure that no person could gain access to my hard drive and see where I have been or find deleted files. I know that when you delete files they are still on your computer. I would like to know how to make sure they are really gone, and there is no path left to find them or fine any real history. My computer has anti virus protection and it is running greatly. I was stunned to find out how simple it is for criminals, your spouse, boss, employees or hackers to install key logger type spy programs on your computer and watch your every move. Spy software is so easy to install and use, it can turn any eight year old into a seasoned hacker! They have even come out with "hybrid spy software" which disguises itself as an E-Greeting card! The moment you open it you're infected! These are the things I worry about.
You can also take a look at SpyBot. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
It can work well as a compliment to Ad-Aware.
